Twenty million years ago in East Africa the earth's crust weakened and tore itself apart, creating a jagged rift. A chain of magnificent volcanoes arose with most famous of all, the Kilimanjaro. In a two part television series, Elephants of Kilimanjaro and Monkey Hunters, we focus on this part of the Rift Valley in East Africa where we will reflect on the extraordinary, beautiful and inspiring nature and geology within this part of the world.
